About

There's a thread that runs through everything I make — through the garden journals, the herbal guides, the podcast episodes, the recipes and rituals. It's a love of nature. Of plants and the quiet intelligence they carry. Of seasons, and the way they ask us to slow down and pay attention.

That love isn't just a theme in my work. It's how I live.

I have 15 acres of woodland and hay fields in Vermont, which are in the process of being converted into herb gardens and an herbal education center. The rhythm of that land, the plants that grow there, the light that shifts through the trees — all of it shapes what I write and how I think. My connection to the land isn't a brand aesthetic. It's the ground everything grows from.

I'm Brenda J. Sullivan — herbalist, author, and educator. For more than 27 years, I've been teaching people how to live more deeply in relationship with plants and the natural world. That work began at The New England Herbary, the school I founded, and it continues today through my books, my podcast, and the growing community of people who are learning alongside me.

My books are an extension of that teaching. Herbal Harmony brings together herbal wisdom and the rhythms of the zodiac in a practical, beautiful guide to plant medicine for mind and body. My garden journals — for both adults and children — are invitations to slow down, observe, and record the living world around you. Each one is designed to be written in, grown into, and returned to season after season.

Whether you found me through a podcast episode, a recommendation from a friend, or a search for the perfect gift for a nature-loving child in your life, I'm glad you're here. This is a small, intentional shop, built with care for readers who believe that plants matter, that seasons are teachers, and that some of the most important things in life grow slowly.

Take a look around. And if something here speaks to you, I hope you'll bring it home.
